The cultural, geological and anthropological landscape of the park, built in an old disused quarry near Matera, is among the most interesting in the world. Inside the park, with an extension of about 6 hectares and an exhibition structure of about 1500 square meters, numerous contemporary structures-installations are exhibited by the artist Antonio Paradiso who currently lives and works in Milan and has been traveling through the deserts for twenty years of the Sahara and in tropical Africa, doing anthropology and paleo-anthropology studies. Thanks to the excellent acoustics due to the presence of the tuff, the local stone used for millennia, unpublished concert events are periodically organized inside the Park as well as exhibitions of internationally renowned artist sculptors. Open to the public it enriches the cultural offer of the city of dei Sassi.
