A stone’s throw from the Duomo, in the upper part of the Sasso Caveoso, one of the two natural depressions that characterize Matera, Casa Noha offers itself to the visitor as an “entrance gate” to the city, retracing its history thanks to an innovative communication project. With its tuff structure, vaulted ceilings, delicate carvings and frames, the building represents an example of private architecture of the Sassi. An external staircase leads from the airy courtyard to the five internal rooms, once owned by the noble Noha family.
